Houston - We have a (drinking) problem...
THOUGHTS: About people needing/wanting to heal themselves.
I am having a WILD brain storm 'today':
About people needing/wanting to heal themselves.
Also it is a thought brainstorm along the lines of Frank Farrelly - Provocative Therapy. So lets dive in deep.
Houston, you see, We have a problem.
'We' ... speaking for myself actually "I have a Drinking Problem."
I have many neighbours that are drinkers. In fact, in this little residential units here at (redacted for security reasons), there are many self-contained units. In many of these units, directly at a stone's throw near me, there are at least seven active "Drinkers".
Many are 'social drinkers', having a few drinks here and there, and on a few occasions, much like myself, AND there are those that GO DEEP into the pond.
Yes, I will even admit that I also have had far too much to drink on occasions. Although that was last Christmas (2023), so going okay now at this writing. Lol.
Some of my immediate neighbours are what I am referring to now as "Obliterative Drinkers". The intention and action to do so, to OBLITERATE reality, memory, daily existence. 'Regular Drinking', so regular in fact that it is almost daily/nightly.
I also see that our government has a Drinking Problem.
Yet ironically, they are on the other side of the coin as it were.
These 'government people' are addicted to the TAX's it produces being sold, much like "Automotive Fuel Tax", "Cigarette Tax", and in this case "Drinking Tax". They have no incentive to fix 'this problem'. It is our problem (social) not theirs (money). Or is it?
So first off, let's ask AI my Copilot*+ et al., about Frank's workings...
oi, Frank Farrelly wrote 'Provocative Therapy', and as I remember it, it was ground breaking.
Tell us about it please.
Certainly, Frank Farrelly, a therapist known for his innovative approach, authored 'Provocative Therapy'.
Let’s delve into the intriguing world of this therapeutic method:
1. What Is Provocative Therapy?
- Provocative Therapy is a system of psychotherapy that combines elements from Rogerian Client-Centered Therapy with a unique twist.
- Farrelly’s approach involves establishing a compassionate foundation with the client and then, with their permission, playing the devil’s advocate.
- The goal is to 'jolt the client out of their current mindset' using humour, (so-called) reverse psychology, and unconventional therapeutic ju-jitsu moves.
2. The Essence of Provocative Therapy:
- Farrelly’s work injects tremendous energy into the otherwise more subdued 'Rogerian' methodology.
- He uses outrageous humor and provocative interventions to challenge clients’ assumptions and encourage change.
- Imagine therapy sessions where problems are thrown up in the air, bathed in humor, poked fun at, ridiculed, exaggerated out of context, and explored from unexpected angles.
3. Frank Farrelly’s Legacy:
- His 1974 book, aptly titled 'Provocative Therapy', introduced this ground-breaking approach.
- Farrelly’s deep understanding of the human condition allowed him to make people laugh at themselves while addressing their issues.
- His work has left a lasting impact on the field of psychotherapy, emphasizing the importance of creativity, playfulness, and unconventional thinking.
4. Authenticity Matters:
A person self worth (not ego) based on their desire to be authentic helps in the whole process.
Q: Are they lying to themselves and others? What would that be about? Perfection, and the desire to achieve perfection, or having made 'mistakes' in life to hide the 'aware-self' away from.
Authenticity in using or applying Provocative Therapy most importantly upholds Farrelly’s legacy with a 'twinkle in the eye' and ensuring you are coming from the heart - just as he intended.
Remember, 'Provocative Therapy' isn’t your typical therapeutic journey — it’s a rollercoaster ride of humor, challenge, and assured transformation! 🎢🤔🌟

OK, so Copilot, please give me web-page summary...

LETS CONTINUE shall we...
Ok, so lets get back to identifying the actual problem.
"Or as some sparkly larks say out loud: "I drink, I fall down, I go to sleep, no more problem. Lol.
Houston, we have a problem, and it goes deep.
You see the problem is like the other side of the coin metaphor - two fold. It has a light side and a dark side. The dark-side cannot, according to the ego, allowed to be made aware to the light-side or else it game of manipulation is discovered.
Lets acknowledge that in this metaphor, the light side is awakened conscious awareness. the daily awakened state that you are mostly likely to be in as you read this text. The dark-side is that state in this specific Drinking Problem state as 'forgotten reality'. The 'Obliterated Reality' it appears to be the whole reason for 'Drinking to Excess' as it would seem upon observation at least.
"It all goes away, when I drink."
"What did I actually do last night"
" Who the actual fuck are you?"
"and then they said (this), and (this) and (this)... blah blah!"
"I had such a great night last night, I go SO pissed, and I do not remember any of it"
The "words spoken" when in the obliterated-state* are later not accessible as memory to the consciously-aware-mind later on.
This is a major problem in addressing/resolving this issue.
So in conclusion.
What is it for us to do about this, at our own individual level?
Lets not meta disassociate this to someone else’s problem.
It is ALL OF OUR/US/WE individual PROBLEM/Challenge/Solution?
